Open-Architecture Investing 

Unlike other providers, we do not have proprietary mutual funds to select from on the Ameritas platform. We allow investments from nearly all mutual fund families including Vanguard, American Funds, T Rowe, BlackRock, etc., in order to provide an unbiased lineup. Many providers limit your options or only allow for their own branded funds that lack diversification.

Fiduciary Services Available 3(38) and 3(21)

This insulates the plan administrator from fiduciary investment choices and liability. A 3rd party analytics company will always be monitoring your plan to ensure that the funds are performing well, remain low in cost, and don’t have portfolio manager turnover.

Plan Review and/or Creation

If you already have a plan in place, we will review and determine if anything can be improved. If you need to implement one, we will discuss what options make the most sense for your business. We offer a variety of solutions. including solo 401(k) plans, SEPS, SIMPLEs, traditional 401(k), ROTH 401(k), 403(b), ROTH 403(b), 457 deferred compensation plans, ESOP, and profit sharing plans.

Free Financial Education for Your Employees 

Whether or not your company is a client, we provide free financial wellness programs to any firm that has at least ten employees. This is a four-part series divided into 1) The Basics of Saving 2) Understanding taxation 3) Understanding the fundamentals of financial wellness and 4) Women and Money. We also have free financial education and counseling services tailored for executives, partners at physician groups and law firms, and employees who have highly appreciated stock or options.

Flexible Fee Arrangements

We run both of the below scenarios when an opportunity is presented to us to see which is the best fit, and ultimately you decide:

GVA Platform

A platform that allows for revenue sharing funds that helps offset admin costs and advisor compensation. Non-revenue-share funds can still be used here (ex. Vanguard Funds). There is also a tiered wrap charge on this platform. As assets grow, the internal wrap charge diminishes. This is mostly for start up plans and plans under $1-3 million.

GPA Platform

RIA based fee for service model. All funds are non-revenue-sharing. The advisor adds their fee for service (ex. 50 bps). The administrative costs are higher on this type of platform, but when a plan has a few million dollars in it. This platform makes more sense than a platform with an internal wrap charge.
